Built like a boss!

Built like a tank., nicely finished, well constructed. On the "beauty side"... it's got a commercial look/feel, not so easy on the eyes (I set mine on the steel post). But we'll learn to love it. If you care about the esthetics of it, plan to install in a custom column of some sort, skip the post. If you are setting it on a post... wait until you have it in hand to set your post. The shop drawings on this site show you inside dimensions; they DO NOT include the additional ~1 1/2 inch height imposed by the mounting plate. My poste came in 3 days before the box itself... and I had it in the ground before I realized I'd set it an inch or two TO HIGH... do your planning from your own measurements from your particular mail box, don't rely on the information on this site. I'm happy with the box, but I'd put it into a column if I had it to do over again.

Just had a car plow into our row of Rural Boxes taking out at least 7 Mail Boss Boxes and NOT One was open,.. run over,..... semi crushed..... bent up and on the ground but INTACT with locking door shut....... Looking for another today.

Just installed today by a guy who never installed this kind of mailbos. He said it was much easier to install than a regular one!! We have a post so put the 38" new metal post over the existing one. Easy peasy. It looks great. I am waiting for other neighbors to ask where I got this mailbox!! Today's delivery will be the first. Hoping the postal driver likes it. When I told her about it she wasn't happy about small slots. I said I bought the one with the largest slot. We shall see!!
I also would like to thank the customer service people who were so helpful with this project!! I called a lot as I was so undecided about things!

Here goes what I did to install it:
Step Number 1. Dig a hole 32" deep, 16 " diameter for the 43" In-Ground Installation
Step Number 2. If you want to go 12'' deeper, you also need to buy 4X4 treated wood from the local Lowe's store and cut it to the 55" that is needed
Step Number 3. Insert the 55" long 4X4 wooden post inside the 43" long In Ground Metal Post, it fits in without any problems, you have 12" of the extra wooden post sticking out
Step Number 4. Put two 2 1/4" concrete bricks inside the 32" Hole side by side at the bottom, covered by 6" of gravel
Step Number 5. Drive six big nails thru the six holes of the In-Ground Post into the 4X4 wooden post facing up on the 45 deg angle
Step Number 6. Drive two (2) 3" screws on each side of the 4X4 wooden post that sticks out of the In-Ground Metal Post
Step Number 7. Now you are ready to lower both combined posts into the hole on the top of the gravel, side of the In-Ground Post with no holes facing your house, not the street
Step Number 8. Use metal rebar from the Lowe's store angled outward into the soil at the end of the 12" buried section of the In-Ground Post plus other metal wires to form a metal cage for the concrete to hold on after the pour of the concrete
Step Number 9. Stake these combined posts out, first in parallel to the street, second at 90 deg angle to the street, use E-Z Holds 12 in opening 300 lbs clamping pressure at the top of the post that would grab the post and long wooden stick 1-inch by 1/2 -inch from Lowe's on one end, you need two of them at the In-Ground Post, and long wooden sticks 1-inch by 1/2 -inch from Lowe's joined by screws to other wooden sticks to be driven to the ground on the other end, to secure the post to stand it all by itself, you also need two-sided post level from your local Lowe's store to check it if the post is plumb using a level , and attach it to the in-Ground Post that is buried only 12 " deep, 31" above the ground
Step Number 10. Mix 2 bags of 50 lbs fast-setting concrete in a wheelbarrow plus 3 US Quarts (2.8 L) of water
Step Number 11. Pour the concrete into the Hole
Step Number 12. Repeat step 9 and pour the concrete into the hole 2-3 in below ground level
Step Number 13. Check if your post is plumb using a level
Step Number 14. Wait eight (8) hours and install the mail box according to the provided instructions
Step Number 15. Smile, you are done
Mail Manager® PRO is very easy to install, no Engineering Degrees are required to install it
Thank you for this superior product and design futures of it
